Things You Don’t need In Your Airstream RV (But Glad To Have)!
When it comes to packing for a trip, your list of goods to bring might sometimes seem excessive, frightening, or overwhelming. These are the occasions when we ponder which components are truly vital and which are only decorative. To make things easier, we spoke with Ramona Creel, a full-time Airstreamer, about her road trip basics and how her packing habits have evolved over time.
What are some of your must-haves for an Airstream road trip?
I'm a big believer in having extra supplies on hand in case something unexpected happens. I always have a spare portable hose on hand in case my existing one blows out. When your power hook-up is just a touch too far away from your rig's parking area, at least one extension cord comes in handy. Murphy's Law also suggests having extra light bulbs on hand, different cotter pins if you lose yours while unhitching, and some essential tools like a flathead screwdriver, screwdrivers, hammer, wrench, etc. pliers. You should also bring a roll of good duct tape with you if your sewer hose tears or your water pipes leak.
What has changed as your travels have progressed?
We no longer leave town without stocking up on pantry staples. I adore cooking and, as we travel, I especially enjoy exploring or developing new recipes using local and seasonal ingredients. It turns out that my foundational components aren't all that common. I learned the hard way that there are many towns in America where authentic extra virgin olive oil, almond milk, miso, or a jar of cardamom are difficult to come by. And I don't want a fantastic meal plan to be destroyed due to a lack of ingredients! Now we will discuss about the items that you don’t need in your airstream RV.
Countertop Ice Maker
We use our ice machine for everything from cold water and soda beverages to an afternoon iced coffee. This is not the necessary item in the Airstream RV, but it will be easy for us if we have the ice maker.
Instant Pot
If you don't have one, we strongly advise you to get one. Even after a long day of traveling, the pre ssure cooker function makes it simple to have a hearty and delicious supper on the table with no effort. There are so many delicious RV Instant Pot dinners to choose from! This Instant Pot Pot Roast recipe is one of our favorite travel meals. If you live in Tennessee, and Mississippi you can contact the best Airstream dealers in case of any query.
Electric Griddle
We have a rule in our camper: never, ever, The odour just won't go gone! Electric grills are ideal for outdoor cooking on a table or outdoor kitchen counter since they are flat and easy to store, and they heat up evenly and rapidly. Griddles are ideal for cooking various dishes while keeping the odours and splatters associated with specific foods to a minimum.
Camco Deluxe Folding Grill Table
When cooking outside, these tables are a terrific way to increase your prep area. The top platform is ideal for a griddle or tabletop grill. Drill with cordless motor and 3/4′′ socket with adaptor – Drop those stabilisers in a matter of seconds! Use a drill instead of a non-powered hand crank to drop anchor swiftly and efficiently.
RV Awning Mat
Nothing is more inconvenient than the amount of sand and dirt that is brought into the trailer! Please take one of these mats and place it beneath your RV's steps. This area will provide you with a large area to kick off your shoes and remove extra sand from your feet. You can contact the best Airstream dealers in Mississippi and Tennessee if you want to know about anything.
Lightweight Stick Vacuum
In a camper, storage space is valuable real estate. These simple vacuums are small and light so that they won't take up much space. They're fantastic in getting rid of dirt and sand that gets dragged into the camper!
Screened Tent
You never know when you'll be parked at a campsite with no trees to provide shade... or when you'll be in a mosquito or fly-infested region. Keep a screened tent in your camper for those times when you want to sit outside and take in the sights but want to do so in the shade and away from most biting insects.
Walkie Talkies
Cell phone service isn't always guaranteed when camping in the mountains or other rural regions. Keep a set of walkie-talkies in your camper so that you can communicate with anyone who is touring the park.
Throw Cushions
Find some adorable outdoor pillows that match your design style. Not only do these pillows look great on the couch and chairs, but having extra cushions at night is quite helpful! I only have one pillow for my camper bed, so I usually take a throw cushion or two off the couch and put them beneath my pillow each night.
Laundry Lines, Retractable
These laundry lines are a terrific addition to your camper (ours installed over the bathtub). It's convenient to have more storage space for damp towels after a shower or swim.
